摘要 PURPOSE:To quickly measure the carbon concn. in a molten iron with high accuracy by incorporating the concn. of elements Si, Mn, P, S, Ni, and C as functions into a calibration curve in the stage of measuring the carbon concn. by using the calibration curve from the solidifying temp. of the molten iron. CONSTITUTION:The molten iron is sampled and the solidifying temp. of the sample is measured. The calibration curve for the solidifying temp. and carbon weight % concn. is preliminarily made up. The formula incorporated therein with the concn. of the specific elements existing in the molten iron as functions in addition to the solidifying temp. is used for the calibration curve. In the formula, Si, Mn, P, S, Ni, and Cr denote weight % of the respective elements, T denotes the solidifying temp. of the molten iron and a1-a8 denote constants. The solidifying temp. and weight % of the respective elements are measured and the carbon concn. is calculated by the formula for the calibration curve. The calibration curve taking the specific elements in addition to the solidifying temp. of the molten iron into consideration is used and therefore, the carbon weight % concn. is determined with good accuracy.
