PURPOSE:To effectively prevent the growth of zinc dendrite to make the long term use of a battery possible by adding a specific ether to an electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Ether indicated in the formula of R-O-R' (where, R, R' show hydrocarbon group having the number of carbons of 1-16, which may be the same of different) is added to an electrolyte to effectively prevent the growth of dendrite in a zinc-iodine secondary battery. As the ether, di-n-propyl ether, or di-n-butyl ether is used. The perferable content of the ether is 0.01ml/l or more. |
