PURPOSE:To always send a hook pulse with a proper pulse width to an external line by providing a pulse number storage device storing what number order of pulse widths is to be stored in a pulse width storage device to each external line. CONSTITUTION:In depressing a hook button of a key telephone set 1 while the key telephone set 1 and the external line are connected by a channel 3, a pulse number is extracted from a pulse number storage device 6 by a central controller 4 in response to the connected external line and a pulse width corresponding to the pulse number is extracted from a pulse width storage device 5. Thus, a command is sent to an external line controller 2 controlling the corresponding external line and the hook pulse having a predetermined normal pulse width is sent to the external line.
