PURPOSE:To improve the operability of the operator and to relieve the load by detecting a specific hooking signal generated by hooking so as to switch the detection line from a telephone set position to a facsimile equipment position. CONSTITUTION:When the operator sets a sending original to a facsimile equipment and uses a telephone set for dialing and a communication opposite terminal equipments responds thereto, the operator applies hooking by the telephone set for a specific number of times. The hooking signal is detected by a hooking signal detection circuit 14 of an NCU l and the detection output is led to a CPU 21. Then the line 3 is switched from the telephone set position to the facsimile equipment position. In setting a sending original onto the facsimile equipment by the operator in the sending operation, all operations from the dialing to the destination till the switching of the facsimile subscriber line are executed by the telephone set 4.
