In a video recorder with recording of a sound carrier (T) by the video heads (8, 9) on the helical tracks, a compensation of dropout interference in the sound is achieved by feeding during reproduction an unmodulated equivalent-sound carrier (Te), obtained by multiplying the line synchronisation pulses (S) to the mixing stage (19), supplying the sound carriers (T1, T2), during the dropout. <IMAGE>
