PURPOSE:To uniformly remove a toner film within a short period by replacing a cleaning brush built in a printing machine in the normal operation by a cleaning brush for maintenance an sliding the surface of a photosensitive drum by the brush. CONSTITUTION:When printing quality is dropped because of long operation of the electrophotographic printing machine or periodically, the fur brush 9 built in the printing machine in the normal operation is replaced by the cleaning brush 10 for maintenance, the operation of the printing machine is restarted and the surface of the rotation photosensitive drum 1 is slided by the brush 10. Consequently, the toner film formed on the surface of the drum 1 because of the long operation of the printing machine, i.e. the toner film exerting bad influence upon the printing quality, can be automatically, simply and uniformly removed within a short period based on power saving free from manual operation. In addition, the surface of the drum 1 is not damaged and the life of the drum can be extended. |
