PURPOSE:To prevent a double recording and to protect recorded information by generating an output inhibiting the recording of a picture to the input of a picture recording command by a track where a magnetic head is positioned, when a video signal is already recorded. CONSTITUTION:When one frame key 43, a review key 42 or a quick photographing key 41 is pushed, the recorded flag is checked and processed, and when the flag is reset, the picture recordable flag of a memory is set and a picture recording standby mode setting (changing-over of changing-over switches 65 and 68 and ON of switch 69, etc.,) is executed. On the other hand, when the recorded flag is set, the picture recordable flag is set and a pilot lamp corresponding to pushed keys 41-43 of pilot lamps 45-47 flickers. Thus, when the track is already recorded in which a magnetic head 51 is positioned, the picture recording to the track can be prohibited.
