PURPOSE:To shorten data retrieving time and to reduce memory capacity by providing a table for each information and adding the information to recognize the storing position of the information corresponding to each information in said table. CONSTITUTION:The tables 1 and 2 are formed on a memory of a computer. Each symbol name 3 of the table 1 stores the storing address 4 in the table 2 for the symbol value 5 corresponding to the name 3 together with the symbol name. While each symbol value 5 of the table 2 stores the storing address 6 in the table 1 of the symbol name 3 corresponding to the symbol value 5 together with the value 5. In a retrieval mode a received symbol name is retrieved with items of the symbol names 3 in the table 1. When the relevant symbol name is detected, the symbol value address 4 corresponding to said symbol name is obtained. Based on this address 4, the symbol value 5 corresponding to the symbol name 3 in the table 2 is obtained. In the same way, the corresponding symbol name 3 is obtained also in case the symbol value 5 is given.
