摘要 A method is claimed for cleaning an aluminium alloy bar by mechanical means in order to facilitate the subsequent welding of sintered tantalum lozenges onto the bar by the intermediary of tantalum conductor wires. A thin layer is removed mechanically from one or both faces of the surface of the bar or from one side of the bar in a manner that eliminates all the thermal oxide film and all the surface impurities produced during fabrication of the bar. The bar may be subjected to chemical degreasing prior to the mechanical cleaning which itself may be affected using conventional dressing machines or rotary grinders. USE/ADVANTAGE - The method is applied for the preparation of aluminium alloy bars, particularly aluminium-magnesium, for the subsequent attachment by welding of sintered tantalum lozenges onto the bar via tantalum conductor wires in the production of electrolytic capacitors. By mechanically cleaning the bar both the oxide film and surface impurities are eliminated to assure a good surface for the subsequent good adhesion of the tantalum wires and at a relatively low cost.
