A pressure-retaining valve of a simple type of construction is proposed which essentially consists of three components: housing (1), piston (4), sealing part (3). The simple type of construction is achieved by the piston (4) being of two-piece design and having a stepped bore. The axially bored sealing part (3) can therefore reach through the narrower bore of the piston so that the springs (20, 23) belonging to the piston and the valve-closing part can be supported directly on the housing via an annular disc (21). The annular disc at the same time forms the inlet-side stop of the piston (4). Although as a component the annular disc (21) belongs to the piston (4), it forms a functional unit with the sealing part (3). <IMAGE>
