PURPOSE:To attain low power consumption without being attended with the deterioration in the transfer efficiency and signal charge by using a signal whose leading pulse value is highest of all the other signals so as to drive a series circuit cpeak omprising an inductance and a capacitance provided electrodes of a CCD. CONSTITUTION:Drive signals H1-H3 are impressed to each input of drivers 1-3, drive signal phi1, phi2 are impressed to electrodes phi11, phi12 of the CCD from the output of the drivers 1, 2 and the driver 1 receives power from the power supply 4 through all periods of charge transfer, pause and start. The output of the driver 3 at the start is boosted nearly up to a voltage V5 of the power supply 5 and the power voltage of the driver 2 is increased to a value V4+V5 by the bootstrap of a capacitor 6. Thus, the peak value of a drive signal impressed to the electrode phi12 of the CCD is increased by the driver 2. Thus, even if the energy of the resonance circuit is given, the peak value is not lowered than the normal value and the deterioration in the CCD transfer efficiency and the mixture of the transfer signal charge are not caused.
