发明名称 ORIENTATION TREATMENT OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce a film thickness and to eliminate the influence of the film thickness on a display function by transferring an oriented film from a roller- shaped rubbing cloth to a substrate. CONSTITUTION:An oriented film material is previously deposited as a film to a region 5 except a display part 2 of the substrate 1. The roller 4 is moved on the substrate surface and is rubbed in a specified direction by the rubbing cloth 3. The oriented film adheres to the cloth 3 and is transferred to the substrate 1 during rubbing in the region 5. The oriented film of the display part 2 is extremely thinly stretched in this case and the film thickness is much smaller than by a printing method. The influence based on the electric capacity generated by the thickness of the oriented film is thereby decreased to a neglible level and the voltage group or degradation in a memory characteristic by the oriented film in the liquid crystal element is surely prevented.
