PURPOSE:To obtain a fibrous solid medium for solution culture having shape- retainability, moderate water-retainability and gas-permeability and having fertilizing effect, by using an amorphous fiber composed mainly of a specific oxide as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous fiber containing P2O5, SiO2, CaO and MgO as main chemical components, preferably a by-product of fused phosphate production process is used as a raw material. The material is collected into a lump having indefinite shape or formed into a molded article having a prescribed shape. |
