PURPOSE:To print accurately and with high precision, by combining a jig incorporating a foil strain gauge with a contact pressure-indicating electric circuit. CONSTITUTION:A parallelism-setting jig 1 comprises a rubber-like elastic body 3 laid on a substrate 2 through an adhesive or the like. Foil strain gauges 4 are diagonally embedded in left and right end parts of the elastic boy 3, for measuring the degree of parallelism of a squeegee 7. The jig 1 is disposed on a bench 6 of a press, and the squeegee 7 is slowly lowered by a lift cylinder 9 or under its own weight to bring a bottom part 8 of the squeegee into contact with the jig 1. Contact pressures of the squeegee 7 is transmitted to the strain gauges 4, and are numerically displayed on display panels provided at electric circuits connected by lead wires 5. When the numerical values thus displayed are different from each other, the contact pressures of the squeegee 7 are different, so that an adjustment is made by an adjusting screw 10 fixing the squeegee 7 so as to equalize the numerical values, thereby setting the parallelism of the squeegee 7. Thus, a fine adjustment can be easily performed, and printing accuracy on a printing material can be enhanced.
