<p>The method of designing a curved surface according to the invention includes the following stages. In the first stage, edge form data of the n sides of a curved surface are entered. A second stage, to obtain a regular n-sided polygon in a parameter space, on the basis of the given data of the n sides. A third stage, to calculate distance parameters on the basis of the regular n-sided polygon which was obtained by the second stage. A fourth stage, to calculate transition values on the basis of the distance parameters. A fifth stage, to map an inner point of the regular n-sided polygon onto the current sides, for calculation of the limitation parameters. A sixth stage, to calculate at least one of the three-dimensional co-ordinate points, and if necessary, the tangent vectors on the sides. The limitations of the curved surfaces are based on the limitation parameters. And a seventh stage, to calculate arbitrary points on the curved surface on the basis of the distance parameters, the transition values, the three-dimensional co-ordinate points of the current sides, and if required, the tangent vectors of the current sides.</p> |
