PURPOSE:To realize the attachment and detachment at a high speed, to raise the switching driving force, and to miniaturize the system by executing the positioning of each optical fiber of an optical switching system, by an electromagnet by a superconductor. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 2 and an electromagnet 3 by a super conductor are placed linearly in blocks 1, 1' for executing the switching, positioned precisely and fixed. Subsequently, a current is allowed to flow to the electromagnet 3 by the superconductor, and coupling of the optical fiber 2 is held permanently. Also, when the electromagnet 3 does not work, the end faces of the blocks 1, 1' are separated and the coupling is released, by an operation of an elastic block 4 which has been attached to the rear of the blocks 1, 1'. Moreover, in the center of blocks 10, 10' of a rotary multicore optical switching system, and in its concentrical state, a main axis 11, and an optical fiber 12 and an electromagnet 13 by a super conductor are positioned precisely and placed, respectively. In this state, by controlling the electromagnet 13, the blocks 10, 10' are rotated around the main axis 11, and switching and holding of the optical fiber 12 are realized. |
