PURPOSE:To avert the damage of information and the dynamical damage of a head by providing at least one of a reading-only recording region and writing- only recording region together with a rewritable recording region to one optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The rewritable recording region 8 which allows rewriting of recorded information as well as at least either of the writing-only recording region 9 in which the recorded information can be written just once or the reading-only recording region 7 where only the reading out of the already recorded information is possible are simultaneously formed on the same substrate 2. For example, an optical pickup 5 is, therefore, capable of making only the reading-out operation of the already recorded signal in the reading-only recording region 7 and is capable of making the writing, erasing and reading-out operations in the rewritable recording region 8. The overall damage of the recorded information and the damage of the signal reading-out head are thereby averted. |
