PURPOSE:To prevent a filming phenomenon from occurring and to prevent a latent image carrier and a cleaning blade, etc., from being damaged at the time of cleaning by using developer including non-magnetic toner grain and organic fine grain whose diameter is smaller than that of said toner grain. CONSTITUTION:The developer includes the non-magnetic toner grain and the organic fine grain whose diameter is smaller than that of said toner grain and the organic fine grain is constituted of vinyl-based polymer, whose mean diameter is 0.01-5mum. It is desirable that the ratio of included organic fine grain is 0.01-3wt.% of the toner grain. A thin developer layer carried on a developing sleeve 61 and conveyed to a development area 71 receives a spacer effect by the organic fine grain having the small diameter and physical attractive force of the non-magnetic toner grain to the latent image carrier 10 is weakened. Even if a drastic shearing force is given to the non-magnetic toner grain in order to make said layer thin, the attraction of the toner substance to the developing sleeve 61 is suppressed and the thin developer layer can be stably formed. In a cleaning process, the surface of the latent image carrier 10 can be prevented from being damaged. |
