PURPOSE:To enable light emission with brightness in use environment by adjusting the pulse width of a common signal supplied from a common signal line driving means to respective common signal lines in order by a pulse width adjusting means. CONSTITUTION:The pulse width of the common signal supplied from the common signal line driving means 20 to the respective common signal lines in order is adjusted by the pulse width adjusting means 70. The light emission time of each LED 12 of a diode matrix display (L.M.D.) is controlled to increase the pulse width of the common signal when the light emission brightness needs to be increased or shorten the pulse width of the common signal and shorten the light emission time of the LEDs 12 when the light emission brightness needs to be lowered. Consequently, the LEDs of the L.M.D. are allowed to emit light with brightness suitable to the use environment. |
