PURPOSE:To obtain a thin sheet material for use of a gasket with large mechanical strength by applying a composite, consisting of non-asbestos system fiber, rubber and a filling agent, to be given to one side surface of a flat metal core material and vulcanized forming a fiber-contained vulcanized rubber layer. CONSTITUTION:A flat metal core material 11 of 50 to 500mum thickness applies to at least its one side surface a composite, consisting of 2 to 30wt.% non- asbestos system fiber, 5 to 50wt.% rubber and 30 to 90wt.% filling agent, to be given directly by the press adhesion method, next by vulcanizing the composite, a fiber-contained vulcanized rubber layer 12 is provided. When the rubber component is applied being given to the surface of the flat metal core material 11 directly by the press adhesion method, an adhesive agent 13 is left as previously applied. In this way, a thin sheet material, used for a gasket, can be obtained with large mechanical strength and good seal performance in the initial and long period. |
