THRUST SLIDING BEARING COMPOSED OF LAYER MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To prevent a material of a slide layer from being damaged by the bending by forming a recessed part reaching a coupling range between the slide layer and a support layer to be a slide layer in a range of a bent part of a projecting base part before a holding projection is bent. CONSTITUTION: In a flat plate condition where before a holding projection 11 opposite to the diameter direction of an annular thrust bearing 10 is bent, slots 14 extending in a horizontal direction over the whole width of the holding projection 11 are formed on a slide layer of a base part forming a bent part. Recesses may be acceptable in place of the slots 14, and each depth reaches the coupling range between the slide layer and a support layer. Damages such as a crack, and peeling of the slide layer are prevented in bending the holding projection 11.
