METHOD AND INSTRUMENT FOR MAKING BLANKS FROM SLAB

A method of making blanks form a slab provides for dividing the slab into blanks simultaneously with compression of the divided sections of the slab along two mutually perpendicular directions. The instrument for making blanks from a slab comprises two punch heads (2, 3) located so as to form a matrix and each provided with a base (9) and a working surface. The working surface of each punch head (2, 3) has protrusions (7) oriented in parallel to each other and having each a form of an isosceles triangle at the cross-section, whereas sections (8) located between the protrusions (7) are oriented at an angle of 1 DEG 30' to 3 DEG to the plane of the base (9).
