The refractory combustion chamber 1 of a device for producing a mixture of hot combustion products and air is supported from the outer casing 2 by insulating channel members 3 which form passages between them and the casing and between them and the combustion chamber for two distinct streams of dilution air. The channel members 3 and the upper segment of the combustion chamber may be suspended from the casing, and a baffle beyond the mouth of the combustion chamber assists in mixing the streams of air and combustion products. The air flow may be induced by natural or forced draught. |
