摘要 The invention concerns a process and device for monitoring and safely operating flueless stoves, especially paraffin stoves, in enclosed premises both in the normal heating state and outside it. If the normal heating state is not maintained, there is the risk of incomplete combustion with a concomitant rise in the CO concentration of the burner exhaust gas depending on the CO2 concentration in the air in the enclosed premises. It is the purpose of the invention to ensure, regardless of the height of the burner flame, that the operation of the paraffin stove is accurately monitored and rendered safe independently of any detection of the flame height by radiation-sensitive means. This is achieved by the invention in that the proportion of CO in the burner exhaust gas within the paraffin stove is sensitively detected and used as a reference for monitoring the proportion of CO2 in the air of the enclosed premises and converted into a voltage signal used as a control signal, whereby, when the burner runs outside a predetermined flame height range, the sensitive CO detection system is used both to restore the normal heating state and to monitor operation on the lowest flame, and a warning signal is generated and the burner is automatically extinguished with a certain delay at a predetermined first and second CO content in the burner exhaust gas corresponding to a predetermined CO2 content of the air in the enclosed premises.
