PURPOSE:To obtain the treating agent consisting of silica gel fine powder having a prescribed specific surface area and solid-acid acid amount, useful in removal of tannin and protein which are turbidity precursor ingredients in beer and effective for improvement of endurance. CONSTITUTION:The aimed treating agent using silica gel fine powder having 250-500m<2>/g prescribed specific surface area by BET method, 1.0-2.0cc./g pore volume, 0 solid-acid acid amount in <=+1.5 acid strength and acid function H0 and 0.1-0.40mmol/g solid acid in acid function H0 and <=+4.8 acid strength. Furthermore, the silica gel is obtained by using sodium silicate according to JIS and 45% sulfuric acid solution at a volume ratio of 4:1 and reacting the both in instantaneous contact and grinding and cleaning the resultant silica hydrogel and then adding 54ppm sodium hydroxide solution thereto and subjecting the silica hydrogel to heat treatment to control solid-acid acid amount and drying, grinding and classifying the gel. |
