The input area (8) of the rotating drum (3) has ten similar sections with inner (2) and outer (4) concentric chambers. In the inner chambers, curved vanes connect the hub to the concentric inner walls between the chambers. The lower halves of each section are filled with water. The gas enters (1) the hub and passes through holes in the hub wall into the inner chambers. As the vanes pass out of the water, the gas expands and passes through gaps in the dividing wall into the outer chamber and thence to the next outer chamber. The gas is then mixed with an ambient air supply (6) in the output area (7), where another curved vane section 'scoops' the mixture into the outlet pipe (9).
|
