The device according to the invention comprises a cutting unit (1) fitted with a cutting rig (4) and with a point support (12) for supporting a metal sheet to be cut in a plane defined by the upper extremities of points (13). Two perforated pallets (boards) (14, 15) move the metal sheets from a loading station (2) to a cutting station (1) and to the discharging station (3). At the cutting station (1), the points (13) pass through holes (slots) (16) in the pallets and raise the metal sheet above the pallet.
