<p>A method of testing for the presence of dibromonitrilopropionamide in a sample, which comprises adding to the sample, under alkaline conditions and in the presence of magnesium ions, a phenolic or anilinic compound that generates a colour; and observing the resultant colour. The appropriate reagents may be formulated as a kit, e.g. using pyrocatechol as the phenolic compound.</p> |
