A dust shield (26) is telescoped with a press fit into the bearing block (21) of a universal joint spider (15) and is bonded to an inner seal (25) which engages the trunnion (17) of the spider to seal lubricant in and to exclude contaminants from the bearing block (21). The inner end portion of the seal (25) is formed with an annular bead (36) which snaps into an annular groove (35) in the trunnion to captivate the bearing block (21) axially on the trunnion during shipping and handling of the spider (15). <IMAGE> |
