PURPOSE: To effectively detect antigen by depositing an electrode on the surface of a slender metal deposited region crossed in the direction that wave is propagated along the support surface formed of single crystal, forming the width and interval of the region to the same degree and immobilizing protein to the support surface. CONSTITUTION: The support 10 of the biosensor is formed of quartz single crystal, cut and polished at the surface. Then, an electrode 12 is deposited on the surface of a slender metal deposited region crossed in the direction that wave is propagated along the support surface by a photolithographic method, the width and interval of the region are set to the same degree, and protein is immobilized to the support surface. The formed electrode 12 is made of parallel strips, and its thickness if about 200Å, the width is about 11μm, and the interval is about 20μm. Each support chip 10 has a temperature detector which has leads 17 and contact pads 18. Thus, antigen can be effectively detected in a liquid phase environment.
