The chess-board-cum-lamp has one side laid out as an unorthodox 64 square board (3a,b) especially in the form of an ellipse or globe. The other side has an orthodox 64 square board layout (4a,b) with extra free areas (5). There is at least one movable (7) turning element (8). The free areas and the spaces (6) of the dynamic element (8) have removable/exchangeable picture and/or graphics supports. The board has a protruding frame (2) in or on both sides of which are felt pieces. USE/ADVANTAGE - The chess game has an orthodox world-league board with 64 squares and free spaces and extra spaces for displaying graphics for instance for learning the game.
