PURPOSE:To provide the subject new N-acetylglucosamine-bonded oligosaccharide exhibiting a Lactobacillus bifidus-growing effect and its production method. CONSTITUTION:The method for producing an N-acetylglucosamine-bonded oligosaccharide such as O-beta-D-Gal-(16)-D-GlcNAc, O-beta-D-Gal-(1-4)-D-GlcNAc or O-beta-D-Glc-(1-6)-D-GlcNAc by making beta-glucosidase react on a mixture of lactose or a lactose-containing material and N-acetylglucosamine and N- acetylglucosamine 1-6 bonded oligosaccharide synthesized thereby.
