A self-switchable power supply circuit for recognising the live and the neutral with respect to earth for supplying power to a sensitive variation circuit for a medium-power, class 1, 500 W lighting appliance. Characterised in that it consists of two relays and of a capacitor making it possible, with respect to earth, to obtain 2 unvarying power supply points (1, 2), not taking account of the live and of the neutral of the mains as a function of the earth of the mains. <IMAGE>
