FIELD: mechanics. ^ SUBSTANCE: mass exchange column packing assembly incorporates multiple vertical adjacent layers of structured packing. Every layer contains multiple horizontal elements of the structured packing, each with multiple top and bottom edges. The packing first layer one element has its top and bottom edges altered. The packing second layer, vertically nearby the first layer, has both edges no altered.
