A memory device is provided to convert a logical address into a physical address by using a first table configured in an RAM(Random Access Memory) and a second table configured in a nonvolatile memory to reduce the capacity of the first table, thereby decreasing the capacity of the RAM. A memory device(1) includes a physical block table(52), a logical block table(53), an entry counter(54), and an address register(55). The physical block table represents whether a physical block corresponding to a data erase unit of a nonvolatile memory(2) is being used or has been erased. The address register represents physical blocks in which data is recorded. The entry counter represents the quantity of data recorded in the physical blocks represented by the address register. The entry counter represents the quantity of data of logical blocks configured in the physical blocks. The logical block table represents the states of the logical blocks. |
