A portable electronic device capable of inputting and transmitting information by using an electronic pen and an information inputting/transmitting method using the electronic pen are provided to write contents as if the contents were written with a pen, after a memo writing mode or a message writing mode is entered, so as to store/transmit the written contents, thereby shortening writing time as realizing simple inputting. An electronic pen(10) transmits a reference signal. An information input unit(20) receives the reference signal to decide on a location of the electronic pen, and generates image data. A display unit(31) displays the image data. A wireless transceiving unit(37) transceives the image data by wirelessly accessing a mobile communication base station(105). A memory(39) stores and outputs the image data by a controller(35). The first access unit is disposed on a body housing. The second access unit is electrically connected to the first access unit by being disposed in the information input unit.
