A support 11 is pivoted to seat 1. A further support consisting of two levers 3, 4 pivotally connected at 16 is pivoted at 6, 7 to seat 1 and back 2 respectively. Lever 3 may be of angle shape as shown or of curved shape, Fig. 4 (not shown). When a person sitting on seat 1 leans against back 2 lever 4 and a short part 3a of lever 3 form an obtuse angle approaching a straight line. Levers 3, 4 are designed so that they will transmit the weight of the user from the seat to the back in such a way that throughout the whole range of movement from 90 degrees to 180 degrees there is exact balance between the transmitted pressure and that of the user against the back 2. |
