METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING OF PREAMBLE IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A preamble transmission method in a wireless communication system is provided to be capable of increasing a transmission success rate of a preamble transmitted to a network through an RACH(Random Access Channel) by a user terminal, thereby reducing the number of retransmission times of the preamble through the RACH. Initial preamble transmission power is calculated when a preamble is transmitted through an RACH to a network(S401-S407). The preamble is transmitted to the RACH according to the preamble transmission power(S409). When a response of the network in accordance with the preamble transmission is received, a predetermined message is transmitted through the RACH(S411,S413). If the network response is not received, preamble transmission power is re-calculated to retransmit the preamble(S415-S425).
