A method for controlling an output voltage of an alternator for a vehicle is provided to extend a lifetime of a head lamp by supplying a constant voltage to the head lamp. A method for controlling an output voltage of an alternator(10) for a vehicle includes the steps of: identifying whether a head lamp(30) is operated or not through a voltage on/off detection of the head lamp in a controller(60) connected to the alternator; sensing the applying voltage of the head lamp and the output voltage of the alternator when the head lamp is operated; and controlling current flowing to a rotor of the alternator to apply a constant voltage to the head lamp. |
