<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device with a protector which is simply shaped so that its flotation or fall-off after pressed in is prevented and its pressed-in condition is stabilized without the need for special machining. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing device with the protector to be used for a shaft sealed portion comprises a seal body 20 having a seal lip 22 for contacting a shaft, and the protector 10 for protecting the seal lip 22. The protector 10 is pressed and fitted into a recessed inner periphery side wall portion 24 of the seal body 20. An outer diameter size A of a front end 18 of a peripheral wall 12 of the protector 10 is larger and gradually wider than an outer diameter size B of a bent portion 16 as the starting point of the peripheral wall 12 and larger than an inner diameter size C of the recessed inner periphery side wall portion 24. Preferably, the outer diameter size B of the bent portion 16 of the protector 10 is smaller than the inner diameter size C of the recessed inner periphery side wall portion 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
