PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of a false color in an image including a high-frequency component. SOLUTION: A direction interpolation unit 200 is configured to generate horizontal and vertical interpolation values in a neighbor region by a horizontal interpolation processing unit 210 and a vertical interpolation processing unit 220. A direction judgment unit 300 is configured to generate weights of the horizontal and vertical interpolation values by evaluating a texture direction in the neighbor region. A composition unit 400 puts together the horizontal and vertical interpolation values obtained by the direction interpolation unit 200 according to the weights acquired by the direction judgment unit 300. The direction interpolation unit 200 corrects low-frequency components of R (red) and B (blue) channels with a high-frequency component of a G (green) channel in the respective horizontal and vertical directions to suppress the occurrence of a false color.
