PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-screen display control system which has both a color display function and a dynamic display function, and a control method. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the OSD control system having an MPU outputting a data signal corresponding to user's operation, and the OSD control system has a host 4 connected to a display device 5. The host includes a memory and a central processing unit, the memory 41 stores external OSD modules, which are used to generate a first OSD menu having a color display function, a dynamic display function, and a mouse selecting function. The central processing unit analyzes the data signal output from the MPU, outputs a corresponding signal, and controls the memory to allocate resources to the external OSD modules stored therein, so that the first OSD menu corresponding to the signal is generated and displayed on the display device.
