PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide composite particles which give transparent appearances to skins by brilliant color development, and realize good finish appearances hiding skin troubles such as spots or freckles. SOLUTION: The composite particles comprise the following components (A), (B), (C) and (D): wherein (A) is plate-like particles which have an average primary particle diameter of 5 to 25μm and involve 5 to 50 mass% of fine particles having an average primary particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.1μm and a refractive index of≥2 in plate-like particles having a refractive index of 1.3 to 1.8, (B) is a colored pigment having an average primary particle diameter of 0.1 to 1μm, (C) is fine particles having an average primary particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.1μm and a refractive index of≥2, and (D) is an organic polymer, and wherein the average particle diameter of the component (B) is 10 to 100 times the average particle diameter of the component (C), and the surface of the component (A) is covered with the components (B), (C) and (D).
