PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jet machining apparatus which can prevent the scatter of abrasive grains around the working region of a workpiece in cutting off the workpiece. SOLUTION: The water jet machining apparatus comprises a workpiece holding means for holding the workpiece, a working water jetting means having a working water jetting nozzle for jetting working water to the workpiece held by the workpiece holding means, and a moving means for relatively moving the working water jetting means and the workpiece holding means. The water jet machining apparatus further comprises a splash sucking means composed of a splash collecting member 81 having a cylindrical covering portion arranged so as to surround the tip end portion of the working water jetting nozzle 71, and a sucking means which communicates with the splash collecting member, and sucks the splash to be generated by jetting working water from the working water jetting nozzle.
