PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of facilitating cooling when an indoor wall becomes hot without using a complex control circuit or the like. SOLUTION: A communication hole 13 is formed on a housing 10a of an instrument panel 10, and an air blowing chamber 40 communicated with an air blowing passage 20 through a by-pass 21 is mounted to an inner peripheral surface of the housing 10a. A sheet-like opening/closing member 30 is coveredly provided on the inner peripheral surface of the housing 10a, and a plurality of clearances 23a extending in the same direction as the extending direction of the communication hole 13 are formed on the opening/closing member 30. An end 30a of the opening/closing member 30 is fixed to an engagement member 25 through a shape memory alloy 24. When a temperature of the instrument panel 10 is a predetermined temperature of high temperature or higher, length of the shape memory alloy 24 becomes high temperature phase length. Thereby, the opening/closing member 30 is relatively moved to the housing 10a such that the communication hole 31 is communicated with the communication hole 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
