The device has a drive unit for partial vertical lifting of a load pickup. The drive unit has a drive motor (1) comprising bearing flanges (3, 4), and a drive element is arranged on a drive shaft. A hauling element e.g. chain, is arranged between the drive unit and the load pickup. A carrier unit is provided for carrying the drive motor, and is formed as the bearing flange of the drive motor. A brake unit (2) is provided for deceleration of the load pickup.
