PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine and a method for processing printing media improved from a conventional technique. SOLUTION: A printing unit of a machine for processing printing media, particularly of a sheet-fed offset printing machine is provided with a plate cylinder 4 and an impression cylinder 6. The plate cylinder 4 has a plate 8 for forming printing information 8a onto a printing medium 12. The impression cylinder 6 has a fine structured surface 10a , particularly a cylinder cladding for contacting the printing medium. The surface of the impression cylinder 6 which contacts the printing medium is provided with a fine structured embossing part 10b for forming embossing information 10b onto the printing medium 12. Printing and embossing are carried out at the same time onto the printing medium 12.
