PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharging system enabling the easy determination of a trouble in the diffuser of a supercharger and an intake system on the upstream side of the supercharger. SOLUTION: In the step S308, it is determined whether surge occurs or not. If surge occurs, a trouble is determined to occur, and the step is completed. When surge does not occur, the treatment is moved to the step S310. In the step S310, the rotational speed of a compressor is increased. In the step S304, if the rotational speed of the compressor is not within a specified range, a trouble is determined to occur in the supercharger and the intake system on the upstream side. In the step S311, the trouble determination treatment is completed. The trouble determination treatment is performed for each of first and second surge lines. If surge does not occur in the first surge line, a trouble occurs in a diffuser, and if a trouble does not occur in the second surge line, a trouble occurs on the upstream side of the compressor.
