PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle AC generator which can improve the cooling performance of brushes by increasing a wind volume around the brushes. SOLUTION: The vehicle AC generator is provided with a brush device 26 which comprises: a rotor including a rotating shaft 14 which has a pair of slip rings 21, 22 electrically connected with a field winding; brushes 51, 52 which slidably abut on the slip rings 21, 22; a brush holder 60 which serves as a surrounding member for surrounding the brushes 51, 52 and the slip rings 21, 22; and a slip ring cover 70.
