A single machining apparatus (20) in which the machining pitch of machining of a work (1a) continuous in the transfer direction is variable. The machining apparatus (20) is used for machining the work (1a) which is continuous in the transfer direction and is being transferred in the transfer direction by wrapping the continuous work (1a) around the outer circumferential surface (30a) of a rotary body (30) rotatable around the axis (C30) and transferring the work (1a) in the rotation direction of the rotary body (30) by the rotation of the rotary body (30), and machining the work (1a) with predetermined pitches in the rotation direction during the transfer. The machining apparatus (20) comprises a first machining section (50) opposed to the outer circumferential surface (30a) of the rotary body (30) and disposed in a predetermined position in the rotation direction, second machining sections (32) arranged at predetermined angular intervals in the rotation direction on the outer circumferential surface (30a) of the rotary body (30) and adapted to machining the work in cooperation with the first machining section (50) when one of the second machining sections is opposed to the first machining section (50), and support section (34) supporting the work (1a) between two second machining sections (32, 32) and adapted to vary the support position (R) of the work (1a) according to the machining pitches.
